Weather Conditions for Wednesday February 23rd, 2011

These past couple days have been very eventful, on Sunday there was a large snow storm, that lasted until Monday morning. Today, the temperature was a lot warmer... it is currently 31 degrees with a predicted low of 19 degrees overnight, and a 20% chance of precipitation. The current wind is coming from the SSW at 5 mph.

As you can see from the current surface map, our warm temperatures may be caused because of a low front moving into or area. The map also shows spots of fog in the Wisconsin area, which is probably Evaporation fog due to snow melting.

Weather Conditions for Monday, February 14th 2011

A beautiful day today in Eau Claire! The snow is melting, it is currently 31 degrees, with a low tonight of 24 degrees. There is hardly any wind, but what is there, seems to be coming from the south.

As you can, temperatures are a lot higher than they have been the past couple days, and we can expect the same throughout the week. If it cools down at all, it shouldn't go any lower than 20 degrees or so.

Weather Conditions for Friday, February 12th 2011

Today it was warmer, no negative temperatures that I know of! Which is awesome! It is currently 1:32 am and the temp is 24 degrees, which is warmer than we've had all week it seems. We did get a few flurries today, and tomorrow weather.com is predicting more snow showers as well, with a high of 33 degrees, and an overnight low of 28 degrees. It's almost sweatshirt weather!

Weather Conditions for Thursday, February 10th 2011

It's still super cold out there! Even though today we had somewhat of a rise in temperatures (it's still currently a whopping -6 degrees). Today there was 0% cloud coverage, which could have had an influence on the colder temperatures, and there was also hardly any wind. What wind there was, was a WSW wind. Another reason (and probably the main reason) for the cold temperatures in our area is because we still have arctic air coming in from the jet stream. It is supposed to continue to get warmer after tomorrow though, with a high of 27 degrees, and even possible flurries! Tomorrow night's low is supposed to be aound 17 degrees.

Weather Conditions for Wednesday, February 9th 2011

If you looked out a window today, it may have seemed like a nice day, but you shouldn't let that fool you. The current temperature in Eau Claire is -8 degrees Fahrenheit, with a wind chill of -20 degrees. The low temperatures stayed pretty consistent all day. Tonight the low will get down to -10 degrees, with WSW winds around 5 mph. Tomorrow temperatures should finally get out of the single digit zone, with a predicted high of 13 degrees, and a low of 4 degrees, along with a small chance of flurries. A SW wind tomorrow will greatly influence the temperature change. The current surface map of our area looks pretty uneventful, as shown below.
